The old Suns (3/60s I think) also had a strip of leds on the back of the case that did this Cylon thing to let you know it was running ok. Although this may of just been remembered wrong but it was something like that.

We have one at work :) well a guy at work brought his in from home, I think that the 3/60 existed in the days before the 486 even?

Nah, just checked with the guys at work it was an 68020 with optional 68881, they also had the tape drive and SCSI box as an external unit!

according to that FAQ they did make a 386 and 486 workstation. but back in those days I was using Amigas.... mmmm Amiga
