I am afraid that as a complete beginner I am do not know what an emoticon is. No offence was intended, I was however struck by the direct comparison of the Linux/free/open community to a religious movement, I have to admit that even though I have a system in which only the word processor, spreadsheet, Web browser and Email client work, and whilst I really can't claim to know what I'm doing, I have a tendency to `evangelism' on behalf of `linux' in general.
