Hi all,
I am presently hosting my personal domain (http://www.codingfriends.com) on a friends server, but would like to host on my own but not for £30+ p/m.
Was just wondering if anyone recommend cheap hosting, but also reliable.
I have done a small search on google and come back with
http://www.uk-cheapest.co.uk/hosting-plans.php
http://www.freevirtualservers.com/free-hosting.htm
There is an average 300 page views per day and rising :)
Cheers Ian

One that comes up on the IRC channel sometimes, is Servage (servage.net). Not sure how reliable they are.
Srdjan
I have a Speed Reloader VM with http://feralhosting.com/heron/slots/
Got two sites on there, never had any issues and the tech support guys are nice, they let me install all sorts of software (as its a shared virtual host so you don't have root access, but its min 25Mbps up & down, max 100 and 110GBs of space for £10 a month!).
I use streamline.net..
Reasonable price and no traffic premium.
Cheers
Ian

I've also been using streamline.net for a few years and have no complaints. I originally went to them when I needed to break through the constraints of bandwidth restrictions.
Cheers, BJ
I am going to go with streamline.net .. thanks very much everyone :)
Cheers Ian

I have a VPS on http://www.xensmart.co.uk for £9 per month via paypal - don't know if what they're offering would suit your needs, but can definitely recommend.
I've had call to use their support a couple of times and found them reponsive and knowledgeable and now they have replaced their management tool, the admin site for managing your own vps is perfectly useable.
Hope this helps,
Jim

I'd recommend Bytemark (http://www.bytemark.co.uk/). Slightly more expensive @ £15/mo (2 months free if you pay for a year in advance), but you get full root access to a virtual machine and can run as many hosts as you want (subject to a 15GB/mo limit at that price), install whatever you want and manage your own DNS.
Very reliable too - not sure if I've had any downtime (that I've noticed) in 5 years...
