ld --whole-archive -shared-o /usr/X11R6/lib/libXv.so.1 /usr/X11R6/lib/libXv.a rpm -Uvh xine-lib-xv-*.rpm --nodeps ldconfig

Other Redhatters merely have to:

rpm -Uvh *.rpm ldconfig

there seems to be about 5 million libraries and extra packages you need to d/l. Well, actually 4.9 million. Darn this CSS business.
