Has anyone got an old 56k capable external modem (that's serial not usb) lying around they'd be willing to part with for a suitable transfer of funds?
She hasn't got an ISA slot free has she? I have a 'real' ISA slot modem - i.e. not a WinModem.
Really, what chipset is it?
Any problems getting it to run under Linux?

I think my original purpose in getting it was to run under Linux, I can send you some more details when I get home this evening if you like (I'm at work, modem is at home).
It's free to a good home, I have no ISA machines running any more. I can stick it in the post to you if you want.
