Great! A volunteer at last! Set the date and we'll be there :-) 4 hours and free unless a small contribution is required towards the cost of the (your) room etc. Jenny.

Seriously, I'm going to look again at organising a meeting here (KL) in the next few days. It was suggested that May (19th?) be an installfest at UEA and Syleham, but I think that's pushing it a bit now. We need to get press announcements and leaflets out, etc. June or July possibly a BBQ, I guess at Syleham now. Shall we go to Elmswell again for the other one? I'd like to see that place!
If Edward could help us by booking a UEA room again for May... ;-)
OK, help bring this about, please!

I think two sites on one day is too much. Why not take advantage of the May/June split and have ALUG do both dates, one in each venue?
Here's my current idea because no-one else had any that they told me:
April - try to get a King's Lynn venue, probably tomorrow. May 19th - Syleham (BJ, did you book it already?) Linux Install Day June 9th - UEA Norwich (need someone to book this) Linux Install Day
July } { One of these a BBQ, maybe at Syleham? Aug. } { One of these a normal meeting, maybe at Elmswell?
Start screaming now, else the above will be passed to people who want to know very soon...

We wouldn't get enough people at either. We must publicise more for this.

No I haven't confirmed yet do you want me to?

Should be okay if the hall is not being used.
Aug. } { One of these a normal meeting, maybe at Elmswell?

Actually, it seems that we may be able to use Essex Uni for that date, which would be very good if you don't mind, because it's an easier venue for new people to find. We should know by this evening if it's possible... hopefully we'll have emails from Real Live Essex Uni Students about it. In that case, we could go to Syleham in late June/early July for a mini-install and BBQ? ;-)

Sure it's okay by me. Just let me know which month we need Syleham for and I'll get it booked.
Essex Uni sounds good to me.
