Martyn - what's been agreed with the SuSE speaker? It sounds as though Syleham is a better venue to me.
Gareth - can you organise posters for the meeting, which we can download, print and take to local computer shops, etc, please? See, told you I'd remember... Might have to hold off on the final touches until we know what we're doing for sure.
Others - if the SuSE speaker isn't coming, what shall we do? Printing and dialup seem to be fairly common problems, and I guess we should get printing sorted out if we want all members to print publicity... Can someone talk about setting up printing using LPRng, magicfilter, printcap, apsfilter, that sort of thing? If someone actually knows and uses CUPS (which I hear much talk about), that would probably be a better bet. And who feels like an expert on dialup? I spy ISP staff ;-) Nothing grand, just a quick 15 minute run through with a couple of overheads (I can print these from postscript files if needed) and a few questions at the end (but specific "help, my box is broken" type questions to take place in the general meeting as before, so don't feel you'll be put on the spot).
In summary: we have one meeting planned with a speaker from SuSE (hopefully ALUG 30) and one meeting planned with talks on dialup and printing, but both with people tbc (please step forward now!) Anyway, whichever of these two doesn't happen this time should probably happen at Syleham. Please think about short talks you'd be able to give and ones you'd like to hear...
Andrew - can we have "talks wanted" and "talks offered" added to the site please?
Also, can we divide up who's going to publicise this where? I'm happy to post the following to the uk.comp.os.linux, comp.os.linux.announce and uk.local.east-anglia groups, as usual, just as soon as things are confirmed, but can someone take responsibility for each of the major magazines and websites (perhaps another list for the website?)

Heh.. well, as noted during the last meeting I have zero design skills so I will be handing this off to one of my colleagues once the text for it is worked out.
If anyone on the list would prefer to have a go at producing a flyer then they're more than welcome to, else I'll have something basic put together once we know all the details for the meeting.
Gareth.
