Hi there Luggers,
I have just signed up to this list and the lug. My interest in Linux stems from a spell working in the Charity Sector. We managed to convert our whole organisation to Linux across ten to fifteen sites (It varied as the project evolved and then unfortunately wound up). My current interest is fueled by offering family and friends an alternative to the commonly available "commercial" offerings. My favored flavors are Opensuse for modern kit and Puppy for the rest.
I have recently moved to Norfolk near Downham Market, and am currently a full time parent!
I look forward to meeting you all, either on-line or at one of the social meets.
Regards
Rob

Welcome! Sad about the fate of your charity -- that was sterling work! Where were you before you moved to these parts?
I'm beginning to wonder if there's enough of us around to consitute a "Downham Market Chapter"?
In addition to yourself, according to the ALUG wiki ("Who we are and where we be") there's Dave Cooper (King's Lynn), Mark Reid (Swaffham), Jim Rippon (King's Lynn), and there are also Mark Ray (Downham Market) and myself (about 10 miles South of Downham Market). And there may be others lurking in the swamps ... So that's at least 6.
Best wishes, Ted.

... it's about time some people updated their locations!

I was in King's Lynn but have updated the ALUG wiki long ago to show I'm not there any more.
ALUG Glastonbury chapter(!) has been meeting on the last Friday of each month.

I'm very sorry, Mark! I have to confess that I "queried" that page by Location, not Name, looking for locations near King's Lynn. Therefore I completely overlooked your name, and therefore relied on (admittedly old) memories.
That being said, maybe people "near" King's Lynn (if not already mentioned) may feel like raising their heads. so that we know who we are, and could maybe arrange the occasional get-together?
Ted.
