Advice please chaps.
I have a really large bookmark collection and I really need to sort it out but have been putting it off because I can't find a decent editor. What I am looking for is something akin to a GUI filemanager which allows me to have two panes open so that I can cut and paste beween them. I'm sure that a very early version of FF used to have this capability, but maybe my memory is faulty.
The mozilla addons site doesn't seem to have anything useful. Any suggestions anyone?
Cheers
Mick

Have you thought about exporting the bookmarks as html and editing them with your favourite html editor?

Thanks James and John.
I fear that this may be what I need to do. But it will probably take me a /lot/ longer than that.
(Bluefish? Amaya? any preferences? I don't normally do html editing.)

You could go all wiswig and use Kompozer? I'd probably use a text editor with 2 windows and cut and paste, save the new file and import.

I've always liked Bluefish as it seems a faster editor than any other. Gedit slow, emacs slow (and complicated).....
"Do a little often"... is my approach to having to do 'painfall' tasks. e.g. in my case gardening - amazing what one can painlessly get done after several 30 min stints.
As far as It goes i think you are trying to find a quick way round 'housekeeping'... i don't think there is one! For actual housekeeping there is; join the mormon religion and then you can have six wives (Mit Romney seems to do ok).

Thanks for the reply, but it is disappointing that you felt it OK to include a casual sexist remark which some on this list may find offensive.

Hardly a sexist remark. Little sense of humour that's all.

Points made, let's not get into a flame war here please.
