Main cause of problem was ignorance about how WINS and DNS work, probably. Did a crash course yesterday. I'll try and do a write-up. Still got to finish the one on networking. It's hard to explain sometimes.
Now for an encore how about a kernel recompile.[1]
Oh, *that*! I did that at lunchtime. Just looking at pine - downloading the files on my linux box now, proudly. Mark - I'm coming on Sunday with probably this debian box and a bit of co-ax, and maybe also a laptop and a broken pcmcia. Cheers, Jen.
