Hi all, I set up a dual boot win2k and debian computer at home last year, each OS on its own hard drive. All was well for ages. Recently I have started having "odd" problems with it though, - first the onboard sound seemed to die and lock up either system. I disabled it in BIOS/changed jumper link, and stuffed in a sound card, and this cured the problem. However now I am having problems getting either systems to print, they can't contact the parallel port. This was working ok so settings are fine.
My question is: could it be because each OS is using different settings for memory etc, that different bits of hardware are getting confused in between boots? The reason I am asking it is because I've got a 2nd hard drive to put in my computer at work here so I can have a linux desktop and only boot into the win when I need the occasional use of it. However I don't want to screw up my work box.
Many thanks, Any comments or experience on this welcome. Jenny
