Hello List,
(Sorry, this may be a little off topic...)
As should be obvious I currently use an e-mail account from UEA. But, as with all good things, my time at UEA must eventually come to an end and I was just wandering if anyone knew of anyone who provides free e-mail accounts that would work well with a normal mail client (like KMail, Evolution etc.)
I suppose I mean POP-based rather than Web-based.
Cheers, Richard

See http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Internet/E-mail/Free/POP3/ and the Directories sub-category.
I can't recommend the one I use, as it's becoming increasingly unstable, but it's not listed much. I suggest avoiding FastMail.fm, HotPost and RocketMail, which have caused problems with ALUG main in the past.

Ive had no problems with geek.com, plus you get an email @geek.com, whoohoo anyway, their web mail client allows you to check up to 5 pop accounts too, which is cool (and handy when in weird places and unable to simply telnet). There was rumblings about having to pay to keep your account months ago, but my rarely-accessed 3 year old account's still there, and working.
as for pop, can't help you there, as i have a varity of hosting accounts, so dont ever use free pop boxes.
