http://www.kdevelop.org/ has what I believe is a very nice IDE that may be able to do Java -its not yet available for v3 but I heard it was running in v2. A warning about Forte - I've run it on a 800MHz/256Meg Ram W2K and it took over 3 minutes to load. Worked quite well when it was up but probably no a tool for beginners unless they're patient.
