Hi all,
firstly, thanks to Keith Watson for supplying me with the mandrake cds. secondly....aaaargh!!! first install went pretty smoothly....put gnome on as GUI...went into it, all seemed ok. display resolution was set to 800x600, tried to find where to change it, but couldn't. then the gui crashed....rebooted machine, mandrake loaded back up, then halted saying that xfree86 not installed on system. wiped HDD, reinstalled mandrake....everything went ok up to 1 min from end of install, got error 'error on load of module xfree86, do you want to continue' have tried with both a yes, and no, xfree will not load, no matter what i do!!! everything else seem to load, just not xfree.....mandrake runs the command line seemingly ok. can i put xfree on separately, and if so how? much appreciated
