It's fairly easy if you read from debianplanet.org and are prepared to recompile a few packages. Or if you mean "unstable" by "latest", yes, it probably has X4.

I have heard compiling X is something of a black art, is this the case? as you know I have know problem compiling my own programs for th OS.
I only need X 4 for Quake and Herione warrior, can you use unstable packages with a stable release?
