Mandrake is normally quite good at picking up the correct sound and network card during installation. You need to consult your motherboard documentation to find out what chipset is being used for sound and network. If you are lucky a module should be available for the kernel to get your network/sound working. Mandrake has the redhat linuxconf config utility which makes setting this up easier. There is a GUI to this tool. Logon as root, KDE session. Double click on DrakConf. If your network and sound card are not available as modules then you may need to compile source code. Check the website of your motherboard/sound/network card provider for support information wrt using linux. Ashley Ashley T.
