Hi Folks, Some weeks ago I bought the ASUS Eee PC 900 (Linux). Dinky little job, and works nicely.
Apparently, ASUS decided to provide more beefed-up replacement batteries for the somewhat feeble one it comes with, as from June.
However, I can find no trace of the actual availability of the new batteries. Even a visit to the ASUS UK website, and searching for "battery", only resulted in a long delay and then a message that their website was undergoing maintenance ... !
Does anyone have info about this replacement and, if it really exists, how it can be obtained?
With thanks, Ted.

Last I heard they were only being made available as a free upgrade to customers of certain regions where the unit had been advertised with the higher capacity unit as in these countries the unit was actually advertised as such

According to eeeuser.com and the forums therein, those are the best ones to get. I'm thinking of getting one when the battery on mine really begins to tick me off, which is going to be soon. Just waiting on available funds to be free...

Assuming its the right one, £25+VAT 42 in stock (as I write this).
Whether there's a free/cheap Asus upgrade I don't know.
