Strange problem, loads of other goodies to play with at the moment though. I'm trying to get Linux to talk to my Diamond Rio 500 USB MP3 player and I think they've had a bit of a tiff coz communication at the moment is a no-no. :-)
I was impressed to see an MP3 player which came with software to talk to it from PC, Mac and Linux last week. Now I just wish I could remember the brand. I'm not keen to buy Diamond again after their complete lack of Linux support on my last purchase.

There are plenty of utilities that work on a Rio 300 serial port transfer but support for the Rio 500 USB is a different matter. Freshmeat yielded one, can't remember the name off hand with links to another. Better sort out USB in the kernel then before I attempt that one though. Nobody came back to me about my missing hard disk problem (see earlier post Missing hdd). I'm still having the problem any ideas? Cheers, BJ
