Hi folks - Ted Harding persuaded me to join the list, I should have done so ages ago.
For those who don't know me, for the last ten years I have run GBdirect in Leeds, a mostly open-source oriented consultancy.
I'm a committee member of UKUUG and The Open Source Consortium (OSC) as well as being CTO of OpenForumEurope and involved with the universities OSS Watch group.
A relatively new venture is this Cutter Project thing about using thin-client Linux in schools.
Nowadays I live in Ely.
Apart from Open Source stuff the main interest is drinking - so who's coming to the Ely CAMRA Beer festival next Saturday? See you there? How about a PGP key-signing session while we can still stand?
Mike

I'd like to extend a warm personal welcome to Mike! We met up some years ago at UKUUG. Mike has been a vigorous and influential activist for Open Source for several years, and it's great for us to have him on board.
While I'm at it, can I point Mike to (and remind the rest of us about) the brief thread "Norfolk County Council response (fwd)" on ALUG in Sept 1993? See

et seq.
This is relevant to the Cutter Project efforts. Perhaps those who were in contact with it then may be able to give us an update (if there's anything new ... ).
The CAMRA Project looks good to me ...
Best wishes to all, Ted.
