Re: [ALUG] Why Do You Use Linux?
Adam S60 is a great mobile OS. I used it for years until moving to Android. It might be old and clunky, but it is highly integrated and the contextual menus and fantastic. Wayne, you can't attack Mick's figures then come out with something ridiculous like S60 has "nothing like market share"...! Where'd you get that from?! http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=1466313 says Symbian S60 devices hold the biggest chunk at 36.6% of smartphone market share in Q3 2010.. (See table 2) It might be a different story this time next year though.
Only 20% of worldwide phone sales are smart phones too. Although, counting S60 as a smartphone OS is a bit rich imo ;) Adam -- New signature required, suggestions on a post card please. _______________________________________________ main@lists.alug.org.uk http://www.alug.org.uk/ http://lists.alug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/main Unsubscribe? I never said there was anything wrong with it, just that "smartphone" os... combined with "old and clunky"... I'd say not /so/ smartphone ;) Adam -- New signature required, suggestions on a post card please.
