True. In the original post, the databases weren't identical, so it's possible that "traditional" replication techniques would not work. But then, I find myself asking "why aren't the databases the same?" and "isn't it dangerous to try two non-identical databases?". I'd be inclined to pull the identical tables into a separate, replicateable database.
