That's a pretty up to date distro for a poor old 300MHz processor. Hope you are using a lightweight window manager.

With ubuntu?! I thought that the window mangler selection was somewhat limited to gnome + metacity for a default install...
/me <3 his ion3 setup on debian unstable (and I'm running on an amd64 laptop :P)
