Why am I keen to buy an internal rather than an external or USB? I already have an external modem - 56k USR - on it and if I'm to leave the smoothie box on all the time I'd like to have as few other things switched on at the same time.
Go there, you're better off getting a adsl router with firewall built in anyway. Something like the speedtouch pro single port adsl router.
Worth considering.
To avoid compatibility issues and to save leaving a box on all the time to share the ADSL, I bought a Solwise 715 router/switch. I have been really happy with it, and the thing is so flexible in its use, though the web console is pretty naff. They have such a strong community and always willing to help and direct.
Have a look, they also got a very good review at http://www.adslguide.org.uk/hardware/reviews/2002/q3/sar_715.asp
http://www.solwise.co.uk/adslspec.htm#SAR715
Hope this helps.
