I believe progeny also uses some type of auto-installer, that could be another avenue for Paul to look at.

Just got hold of a Woody snapshot (testing) - All eight CDs from one the usual sources. Errrm.. The install is a bit archaic compared to an anaconda based installer (flamebait if I ever saw it). I will attempt to build an ISO using pgi and see if it is an improvement once I've compiled a working kernel. The first one returned a whole bunch of undefined symbols at the depmod stage.
