Hi all,
My name is Andrew Hutchings and I'm also known as LinuxJedi. I work as a Lead Software Engineer for a company called MariaDB. I've been a Linux user between a hobbyist and in industry for probably around 20 years.
A really long time ago (about 15 years) I used to run a LUG in Wales, I've lived in Norfolk for 6 years now (Watton) and thought it was time to join one again.
Look forward to chatting to you all.
Kind Regards

Welcome from the outer reaches of the region (Peterborough)!
As you'll be able to see from the archives it's pretty quiet most of the time around here but maybe there'll be a flurry of database questions now that you've outed yourself :-)

Don't worry, I'm used to getting random DB questions :)
I'm a little rusty on the DBA stuff as I work in the guts of MariaDB's engines and plugins (I've also written a few MySQL client libraries). But I'm sure I can help out where needed.
Kind Regards

Welcome to ALUG Andrew. The natives are (largely) friendly so long as you stay on topic..... (no questions about proprietary software). Take a look at the list archives for a flavour of discussions. It has been a bit quiet of late though.
