I use Mint and having upgraded a small file yesterday (of course I recall what, d'oh) I have lost some files and folders on my desktop, though the right boxes are checked to show them. They haven't reappeared so far. How do I get them back? I'm not sure how to find out exactly which version of Mint I'm using. Tessa, certainly.

Which should read - (of course I *can't* recall what, d'oh) The folders etc are still about, so they haven't been deleted. And I have googled but can't find anything immediately relevant.
