David, One word... ZOPE www.zope.org In a box, if you haven't got a functional site within an hour, and if you can't get a more site up and running in basic form within a day of reading the tutorial (included in installation) then your a donkey!!! Have now donned asbestos clothing and await.... Regards Earl

No need for asbestos - Zope is a perfectly decent solution. Although possibly a little over the top for simple sites.
Andrew.
Hi Andrew, thanks for your note, My impression is that it is ideal for simple sites which may grow. The default 'template' that you get with the demo site is great for a simple text/graphics replacement exercise. After reading a little on DTML (the zope 'markup' language) you can start using more advanced stuff (SSI thingies and the like), a little perl/python and a little more reading the docs and your good for the cleverer stuff. You can grow the site along with your knowledge. Not sure the security is much good (I did run strings on /tmp after running a Zope session and found the manager username/password there in gorgeous plain text...). But this was a default install so there are probably some settings.... somewhere..... Cheers Earl
