I have a simple .co.uk domain that I currently have with Daily Internet that is due for renewal shortly. This domain is just for home use and just hosts a single A record pointing to my home server, a few TXT records for SPF and DKIM, MX records and a few CNAMEs for my Google Apps account along with a few other CNAMEs for some simple locally hosted sites, and a redirect to a Blogger site.
I'm quite happy to renew with Daily, though they, like Free Parking before them seem to have pushed their prices up quite a bit. So I would be prepared to transfer.
Does the list have any recommendation for DNS providers please?

I use Mythic Beasts (https://www.mythic-beasts.com/) for all my domain registration and DNS hosting needs. Competent guys, based in Cambridge, employ our very own Brett Parker.

I use them too! (and work for them, because we're awesome). We've also just made dnssec work nice and automagic. We can do DNS only, we tend to prefer having the registration with us too, but we're not too fussy :)

Do you mean a DNS provider or a registrar for your domain? If the latter, be aware that Nominet increased its prices as of 1 March this year:
http://www.nominet.uk/change-to-wholesale-pricing-for-uk-domains/
Note the caveat: "Retail prices for .UK domains are set by domain name registrars"...
