Hello, I've been asked to look into digital signage options for an estate agent, to display photos of properties currently on the market. Obviously I would prefer a Linux OSS solution.
Are there any suitable packages, distros or suggestions? A quick google has identified xibo and lintop - although lintop is not OSS.
Many thanks

If you just want to set the metadata tags within the image you can just use exiv2.
If you want a hidden watermark then you may want to look at a steganography program.

Stick, End, Wrong, Of :D
Stuart, I'd work backwards from what Agency Management software they are doing.
I did something for someone ages ago who was running EstateCraft, this has an option to dynamically create a slideshow from flagged properties in the database. So all the window display clients had to do is pick up a PPT from the network.
xibo looks cool but if it means that they have to enter all their property details in twice it might not be so popular and there is a chance that the display will go out of date because nobody can be bothered to maintain it.
Or if you just want a slideshow of properties and no sales details etc then a quick and dirty way would be to have dvd-slideshow scripted up to build a slideshow movie from a drop folder of photos. Then the window display just needs to be mplayer set to loop the movie file that slideshow produces...to reduce unnecessary network/server load have your dvd-slideshow script copy the latest version over to the clients and remotely restart mplayer (via ssh) with the new version...simples

Thanks Wayne, I'll investigate their current database setup first.
