How do we submit entries?
Via the magic interface that doesn't yet exist... (alternatively, in the mean time, by posting them to the list :)
And now, as if by magic, the competition site exists! There's (obviously) some things that I've missed, but I'm sure you guys will tell me what they are as and when :)
Site is at: http://alug.sommitrealweird.co.uk/
Should be *reasonably* easy to work out how to use it, if you've got any problems I can be found on IRC on irc.alug.org.uk in #alug or, alternatively, normally somewhere near the end of an e-mail client! Beware, occasionally I disappear for a few hours at a time (usually sleep... but there have been times where I've been working rather too hard to keep up!).
I have added Eli and the image to the site, but that's *it*... I haven't added all you other lot and your captions... so, if you'd like to register and send them in, that'd be fantastic!
Yes, I know that it asks for e-mail address... it's so that we can contact the winner at the end... though, it doesn't actually verify that address at the moment (I might bolt that in later...).
Thoughts, Bugs, Etc... you know where to look.
Cheers, Brett

But, but, but... It's broken... Entered my details, clicked on "register" and it doesn't !
Guess Brett wants to keep the prizes all for himself...
Regards, Paul.

But but but! Joe and David have registered!

Have we ever worked out what they are yet?
Cheers, Brett.

Ah ha... I bet I know what went wrong... just added some more code to make it more obvious what it doesn't like :)
Cheers, Brett.

yes.. well...
first prize is LOTS of Kudos, international fame, and a certificate. and something else
second prize is some kudos, slightly less fame, and er... something else.
hang on a minute, I'll look in the charity-shop box.
Get your competition while it's still warm! http://alug.sommitrealweird.co.uk/
Please vote. Please add more captions. Please vote.
First prize is, as mentioned previously, LOTS of kudos, a certificate, and something else. $something_else is now known to be a small once-used radio-controlled hovercraft. Needs bigger batteries, but still an amusing toy.
And now the important part of this email - please vote. And NOT FOR MY ENTRY. I thank you.
Caption Competition 2006-1 will close next Saturday, i.e. 3 June.
Stilvoid (Steve Engledow) is winning.
