Hey - apparently WYLUG are trying to get schools using linux. This guy just told me:
I think all schools should have some linux boxen, but M$ are giving
schools "deals" where you can get buckets of software for not too much money >subscription, surprise surprise) but you have to buy it for all you boxes, even those that can't run it! No wonder the technical suite is full of row after row of "kiss bill's arse" logos in both my daughters' schools. Jen
I agree with getting Linux into schools. It would be a shame if pupils left school believing Microsoft is the only way forward. Linux offers another choice, and so does Macintosh. To teach pupils that there are many different approaches to a problem is an important one, and something they can use in a more generic context later.
