Laurie, Brett, Thanks for that, I've been online for a fair old while now, but never used usenet as such. An occasional dabble in the motorcycle related newsgroups if I needed the answer to something is about my limit. I guess I've just had a sheltered upbringing so if I hadn't asked I would never know :o) (I suppose I should have trimmed the messages off the end, so now it's my turn???)

Al, if you think I "dumped on him from a great height" you obviously haven't survived or witnessed a usenet baptism of fire... We old timers have, and it can get very bloody, especially if one's a hyper-sensitive Yank, which most are, and who take it very personally. Anyway, I'll answer properly in Brett's post.
