I still wonder if it's the other end blocking the user agent of the podcast app or something? What is the podcast and the url you're trying to download from? (feel free to email me off list if you prefer) and maybe I can test this for you.

I agree with Adam. 403 means that the server saw the request, but simply refuses to serve the resource requested. There is usually little you can do about this, it relates normally to some kind of permissions problem. It could also be caused by some access control mechanism which just does not like your IP address.
