Because I often use my browser (Opera, Mozilla) for viewing pages
that are stored locally, I set the URL of the home page to be
file://localhost/home/gerald/ so that I get a display of that directory
whenever the browser starts up.
That works well enough for me, except that all of the hidden
directories and files are shown at the top of the list and there are
lots of them, which means that I have to scroll down quite a way to get
to the things that I actually want to click at. Is there some sort of
command or environmental variable that can be adjusted (in Opera/Mozilla
or somewhere else) that keeps hidden things hidden in the browser's
display of my home directory?
Any ideas, please, anyone?
Cheers,
Gerald.
