The new choice of venue - The City Gate, Dereham Road - was a great
success and many thanks to Brett and Bryce for suggesting it. It
has all the benefits of the Forum as well as a few more, which is
pretty good going really. More comfortable, better beers and a good
selection of food too. Although it is a large pub - a positive - it
does not have the emptiness of the Forum which with its cavernous
space feels almost like an airport or train station. There's even
(unofficial) free parking next door.
Kirsten, Adam, Jonathan, Bryce, Brett, Paul C., Ian, Graham and
myself - not a bad turn out and chatter included the usual wide
range of topics from programming environments to problems with
playing DVDs to fine wine tasting.
