Ergo Mercury Laptops

If anyone has acquaintance with Mercury laptops supplied by Ergo ( http://www.ergo.co.uk/ ) I'd be interested to hear from you! (probably best suited to off-list but OK on-list if you prefer). I'm particularly interested in the Mercury 700A model, and specifically (at the moment, though probaboy other things later) in the builtin ethernet interface device. just bought a dreambox 7000s (a linux based satellite system/pvr type thing, im very excited!) off of a bloke i know and would be very grateful if anyone else whos got one might be able to lend a helping hand/hints with regard to the softcam set up. shant bother you all with more specifics cos it wouldnt mean much unless youve got one cheers rick

screensaver - how?

Having moved from xfce to fvwm2 I now no longer seem to have a screensaver. xscreensaver is installed on my system but the manual pages don't make it clear how to actually run it. Weekly IRC reminder

This is the automated ALUG IRC meeting reminder sent to remind you that there is an IRC meeting tonight (Monday) at 8.00pm. Historically, these used to be the only time a lot of us would be about, now the channel has some usual faces that are there most of the time (except at silly o'clock, when we might be sleeping, or on the second thursday of the month, where we might be drinking in the Reindeer), so don't feel limited to visit during this time, come visit us when ever you feel like it! The meeting takes place on the irc server irc.alug.org.uk in the #alug channel. Most IRC clients should allow you to get there with the commands "/server irc.alug.org.uk" and "/join #alug". Popular IRC clients include xchat, irssi and EPIC on Unix, and Mirc under windows. Here are some links to help you get started with irc. As most of the visitors will be on the side of the Atlantic, can buy a domain name(.org) in the UK, and can the website be hosted can here in the UK. Live Distro with NTFS read/write for slow PCs

Hi, Does anyone know of a bootable Linux CD which allows both read and write NTFS file system access. I would prefer the distro to boot to the command line as it will be used on old (100MHz and below) PCs with ancient graphics cards. I just need access to the ls, cp, rm, mv type commands... nothing complicated. Seasons Greetings! Ian.
