OT: Holt telephone exchange

We are moving to Holt soon and would like to get an old style pulse dial telephone. Does anyone know if this type of phone will work with the Holt telephone exchange? Cheers Ian

Thanks for the information from all who replied. I'm in two minds as to what to do, on the one hand I'm moving shortly, due to go on the first of June, so I could just hang on, and hope they last until then. Or try getting a connection for six weeks before I move, this latter doesn't seem to be a very likely solution as I can't think of anyone who wants to take new customers on a six week broadband contract. -- J.R. They've been pretty good, even during the hiccup with the firmware upgrades on Cisco routers that cause major problems with certain chipsets some time ago (Nildram were on the first batch to be upgraded, and Solwise big suppliers of hardware using the problem chipset, so I caught this one head on - Solwise were very helpful, Nildram did better than most ISPs would have). That said, their customer service has dipped slightly since Pipex took them over (although still no major complaints). They are awful. Hosteurope, when I last tried them, were incredibly slow at dealing with *anything*. Them and Fasthosts are on feckwit list of incompetent companies. Has anyone else had problems with Pipex NOT taking payments, so far over the past year they have failed to take four payments from my credit card and six by direct debit. they have discounted my total bill twice by two payments, (four in total), and in the end I had to give them a cheques as they just couldn't seem to get their own system to work. I am considering moving to another ISP as if this is a widespread occurrence then they are going to go belly up soon due to cash flow problems. -- J.R. Hi Folks, Another query to the best source of general "tech" info I know! I like using rechargeable batteries (to avoid creating nasty junk). The ones you find on sale are 1.2 volts. However, some of the thingies I have work best (or even only) with 1.5-volt batteries. The 1.5v batteries I find on sale are non-rechargeable. So, Question: Can one find rechargeable 1.5-volt batteries? And, if so, where's a good place to look?
