Who is looking after the list these days because now the list has a new home and the UEA list is shortly going to die we need to update the details held with the lug.org.uk website. Cheers, BJ

Cambridge Lug

I just dropped a mail directly to the Cambridge lug with a bit more detail on the Alug as the crossover mail was a bit lacking in references. Anyhow I have asked them on opinions/ideas for any crossovers between the lugs etc, but have not crossposted them. btw do we have a next meeting yet? View MS shares from Linux

Hi guys.. A Q re linking filesystems. Want to join & make filesystems transparent between 3 Windows98 boxes, a Linux server and a Linux workstation. Now I've used Samba & found it great - for servers. Clients can see the server f/s - but the server itself can't see the shares on the Windows boxes (not quite right - Samba has some command line utilities giving views onto the client). I want all the box GUIs to be able to see all the shares -so, how to get Linboxen GUIs to see the MS shares? Also, in such an environment how to connect the two Linux boxes? NFS? This is something I have not as yet done. This OK running alongside Samba? The Linux I'll be using will be either Mandrake 7.2, Corporate or 8.1 (still not 100% convinced about the new kernel). ?:^) brodders

I tried running some of the other configuring tools. Not tried anXious. Potato is the distro. I'm happy to edit XF86Config by hand if I knew what was needed - I'll post tonight if that is ok?
