by Martyn Drake 26 Apr '00

26 Apr '00

Although I've not been about to offer the boxed version of SuSE 6.3, I am pleased to announce that I'm now receiving the full boxed set of 6.4 and will definately try to make it for the next meeting with both 6.3 and 6.4 copies for those that want it. Apologies for not making it to the last meeting, but ISP duties keep getting in the way of things :| Regards, Martyn [ This email came to you via the Anglian Linux User Group list ] [ If you only wish to recieve event announcements, email the ] [ SUBJECTs of "unsubscribe alug" and "subscribe alug-announce" ] [ to listserver(a)stu.uea.ac.uk -- We do need your support, tho' ]

[Fwd: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender]
by Chris Glover 20 Apr '00

Does anybody else have problems with receiving mail from dermot(a)higrade.botwritghts.farm? I don't think I've ever received a mail from him. I use fetchmail to download mail from several places, which then delivers to my linux box. This works OK, except for sending domains that don't exist. If the person who sent this could please FIX their email program so that it has their correct email address, it would be much appreciated. Many Thanks Chris Mail Delivery System wrote: > > This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. > > A message that you sent could not be delivered to all of its recipients. ALUG 1up -- regularising things

I agree. Not that I'm one to talk, having failed to make ALUG28, but that's not the point. More and more people are starting to become peripherally aware of Linux (I'm helping out a bloke at work, a lawyer (!)), and, as they do so, we'll become a useful resource :-) > One of the main points suggested is to make the meetings regular monthly > affairs. It's not in my atlas, but it is an atlas of the world, so Syleham probably isn't important enough ;) > Talks were another strong suggestion. This is a very good idea, IMHO. I've had an idea for a paper on the idea of Open Source methods for about four months now; if this ever makes it into something approaching a paper rather than an idea of a paper then I'll be happy to deliver it at an ALUG meeting. I will also watch the talk on printing in intense detail, because I can't work it out. Another web form, Andrew? ;-) Does anyone have a URL for a list of computer shops in the area - and especially those that understand Linux? Perhaps this could be another page on the ALUG website.
