Hello all I have been playing with Linux on and off for 3 years or so, on older machines in the main. But have now decided to make the switch from Windows, as far as possible! Have just purchased SuSe Linux 7.3 and am slowly getting up to speed. I am currently looking into using as intranet server, for windows networks, i am therfore working with Apache, PHP, Perl, Samba ..... I expect I will be asking questions in the main, but i might be able to answer some ! Cheers Phil Shaw 8-)

To compile an allegro program do this: gcc -c mytest.c -o mytest.o gcc -o mytest mytest.o `allegro-config --libs` Remember there backticks(things below esc on this keyborad). :) Also for stuff like this check out www.allegro.cc ... its forums are very helpfull. Sure, and printf is synonymous to print sprintf(). (It would seem fairly logical for printf to feed the value of sprintf() into print() and not interpret the values itself.)

Javascript, perl script, anyscript help please....

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a method of scrolling a HTML page up and down without user intervention... I know of the window.scroll method in Javascript, but I can only get it to scroll down... The purpose is so a page with monitoring data (MRTG graphs) can gently scroll up so all the graphs are displayed over a period of time... Any ideas ??? Simon
