How do I get rid of empty 15Mb Partition please?

Am getting on very well with Mandrake Lnx4Win - Linux on windows partition - but, on one of my previous abortive attempts to put Linux on a separate partition, I couldn't delete everything, and, despite going into Fdisk on Windows and in Linux I still have a 15Mb empty Partition. I have a 4.3 Gb HD with two Fat 16 partitions - 2047 on C:, 2063 on D: The empty partition is on D:, I have System Commander 2000 with graphic representation of the HD, and you can see the errant partition, but, if I try to amalgamate it in D:, it's got to be a Fat 32 drive, which I don't want. Any suggestions please? If I haven't made it clear enough, please e-mail with any queries. Everything works ok as is, but I don't like having 15Mb doing nothing that I can't delete! Terry

Hi all, I just found this in cam.misc thought you may be interested it will start around midday. Don't know where/what CB2 is though any ideas? I will try to find out later if poss. Hello everyone Richard Smith, of Cambridge Linux User Group, calling in. (our website is www.cam-lug.org.uk ) We have got a "Linux-fest" combined with "Installfest" this Sunday. The venue is CB2, where we will have the use of the basement (that's not as bad as it sounds - it is done-up for drama, poetry readings, recitals, etc!) This will be the second "Installfest" held by the group. The previous one last year was a great success, with a few people just turning-up and the CLUG group having a good chance to network computers together, do installs, get specialist software "up", etc. 'fraid we have all been busy doing our things, so here I am thinking "oh my god, got to put out some publicity fast...". So, if you want to bring along a computer and install Linux on it, that's the purpose of the "Installfest" part of the event. General advice: - definitely, make a backup of everything valuable on the computer - all you documents and so on. Sod's Law says if you don't make a backup, something is sure to go wrong! - evaluate the two main ways to put Linux on a system for the first time. One is to partition the hard disk, so that an unused portion becomes separate partition(s) for the Linux system. The other way is to install a separate hard disk dedicated to Linux. The latter is probably an attractive option if you already have a lot on you computer. Oh groan - I'm not even sure how much space a Linux distro needs these days - it's easiest to do a "full install", which takes up a couple of gig's, but a lean install will fit on just a few hundred meg's. I hope to be doing a quick presentation on the programming language "C". You may know that C is the "native language" of unix, and has been adopted for general use across quite a range of programming. It is used for major algorithm-writing now in mathematics (trust me - that's good!), science and engineering - which is where I met C. I will be outlining just the "special" parts of C - the ones which cause either a deep fear or euphoric liking for the language (there isn't much in between!). A week or two of BASIC at school is intended to be plenty enough grounding for this talk. Demo of Zeus things,

Hi all, Not at the meeting on Sunday but maybe at the next one would any of you like a demo of some of the Zeus software? I would probably be able to bring a fair amount of kit to do a load balancer demo, a webserver demo and also could demo our new product Zeus MHE (Mass hosting edition) which is designed for ISP's to use as a managment tool. I have an old 2gb disk with redhat on and I can boot it from my windows disk using loadlin. Using this you can then mount the windows disk if you need access to it. The Best Possible Linux Laptop Solution (Personal Use)

Hullo I am thinking of getting a new laptop, now that everything becomes so INconvinient ever after I left the UK - and miss my lovely Siemens Nixdoft computer. (Tokyo sucks!) My question: which one's the best? Give your wishful thinking please. List of my considerations: - Main use is "web development" and "Palm Development" - Might need to use both "client" and "server" dually. Who's coming, what they bringing. I'll definitely be there with 'Dellboy' my trusty laptop running Mandrake 7. Also 'Rodney' my main box which I can't seem to get ATA66 working on so some help there please. and at least one other machine running whatever distro I decide to bung on it this week if I have the time. Plenty of power leads and network stuff, 5 port hub etc., tea/coffee/bikies and anything else I can think of. Cheers, BJ

Anybody out there with bandwidth to spare (Brett?) who could download the iso images for Mandrake 7.1 cds 1 and 2 for me? 650meg and 350meg bit too much for a 56k modem me thinks. Cheers, BJ
