[Alug] Linux and Laptops

Alug Can anyone help at the moment i have Mandrake on my Desktop Computer and I am wanting to put Mandrake or any other distro on my laptop with Windows. I have a Comaq Presario1200 and on the couple of times I have tried my only real problem has been using X is there anyone who can help or even better someone near Bury St Edmunds who would sort it out for me.
