Is it me or is there something a bit fishy about the Hoary xmame packages ?
I am all set up for the standard Ubuntu repositories, plus universe and multiverse.
Using apt to install xmame (either the sdl or x11 version) I get the following error when I try to run it
"error: compiled byte ordering doesn't match machine byte ordering are you sure you choose the right arch? compiled for msb-first, are you sure you choose the right cpu in makefile.unix"
No mention of it being a problem on the Ubuntu wiki and the guys on #ubuntu don't seem to have heard of it before either.
Being that I was in the need for some serious legacy game action, I tried building advancemame from source...Got it built but I forgot that the framebuffer on ubuntu machines using the Nvidia drivers is broken...advancemame only supports fb mode AFAIK.
