Another poser for the smart ones out there. :-)
When I boot from a floppy I can see all my drives but booting from the /boot partition one of my IDE channels is invisible. The bios sees it but Linux does not. It isn't reported in the boot message that flashes past at break neck speed! I presume this is a kernel thing but the kernel image on the floppy should be the same as the image at /boot. They were both created when I installed, I haven't been fiddling, honest guv!
