Not the Mandrake way either, I suspect. I assume that you're getting one of the hisax errors still? Adding a correct options line to modules.conf will solve that.
I've now found the correct file to edit and removed the Kludge.
/etc/isdn/profile/card/mycard is the one - parameters are passed from there to various other init files. They *can* be read from /etc/modules.conf instead in which case it seems that the card type needs to be set to 0 in the 'mycard' file.
Hmm, just noticed the time - kids will be awake in five hours. Oh drat.
