Last time I saw this, the ISP had cut the customer off for non-payment of the service. The fault was with the ISP (they'd screwed up the direct debit), so its worth checking you have actually paid/been charged.
I suspect/hope you may be right. UKFSN got my account all confused and after several months I had to remind them to bill me! It could be something still hanging over from that.
I have told them about my problem and I am still waiting to hear back from them. They aren't exactly fast in responding. Having to rely on dialup is like being back in the Dark Ages as I have quickly got used to broadband.
