im running gentoo on my home serva. apache2, mysqld, samba, etc - on a old 700mhz. apache is relatively easy to set up, but there is a lot of power there should you want to tweak. i would recommend it - i use a apache server, with `webroot`/ site1 a symlink to /shared/web/site1.co.uk /shared/web is shared over a samba link. its easy to use konqueror/kwrite/gimp to make the site, then simply visit http://server/site1 to see the server-parsed website. hpe this helps!
