Yes, I wish I'd looked into it more before I bought now (Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000).
Which driver is in use? I had to disable N mode on the Intel wireless on my W500 due to problems.

I've added the options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 to fix the problem, but I think it's fixed in later kernels than that which I'm running.
