Seems fair, as that usually means ethernet or similar, not serial ports.
I have tried pppconfig with TTYS0 etc, but obviously this does not work. Any ideas please?
Why is it obvious that this does not work? What does it say? Do you have a /dev/ttyS0 or a /dev/tty/s0 or similar? Does dmesg mention serial ports at all?
