You guys are very lucky in Norwich. Norfolk library is actually really good, they stock a massive selection of books, and the Millenium Library in Norwich is huge. They're also pretty good on buying new books on request. They bought copies of Thomas Passin "Explorer's Guide to the Semantic Web" (though they catalogued it in library science rather than computing) and Danny Brian "The Definitive Guide to Berkeley DB XML".
In Lewisham library there is exactly no sheet music and the computer books comprise a few copies of MS Excel for Dummies. :-( They're one of those public libraries that thinks that providing internet access is more important than lending books. IMO that's the wrong way round. I can get internet access anywhere, but the library is the only place I can get (free) access to books. </rant>
